Hide-Away Farm

Hide-Away Farm

Hide-Away Farm was owned and farmed by the Gray family, who also owned and farmed Shady Lane Farm, for about 145 years. During that time, they kept dairy cattle and farmed various types of fruit for their livelihood. We acquired this beautiful farm in 1983. We converted the 100+ year-old dairy barn to a modern equine facility, while accenting the antique woodwork and hand-hewn beams.

As you look at this photo, you can just see the entrance to the old cattle lane to the southeast (right)) of the barn. You can also see the pond put in by a previous owner and (on the left) the elegant, antiquarian farmhouse with its recently rennovated, attached shed. Another item of interest is the Periwinkle Road, an old carriage road, leading north to Shady Lane Farm. Both Shady Lane Farm and Hide-Away Farm are now under conservation easement, so their natural and agricultural beauty is assured for generations to come.

This is a new site and we'll be doing a lot with it, so you may want to stop by once and a while to see what's going on.

God bless America!
